Fantasia not flustered by hate mail

A threatening letter spoiled Fantasia Barrino’s Friday night, but it hasn’t knocked her off stage.

TMZ.com reports that the singer received an alarming letter on February 19 after a performance of The Color Purple at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. The message was riddled with racial epithets (including the n-word) and sentiments such as “go back where you came from and die.”

The letter writer said they know Fantasia from her “American Idol” days because they were a Fox security guard during her season.

Theater guards and the Los Angeles Police Department were immediately contacted about the incident, and security has been “beefed up” at the venue. And anything addressed to the singer will be screened.

In the meantime, Fantasia is not letting that hater stop her, "I will not be defeated by one isolated person’s hatred,” she told TMZ.
