Big Boi has found a label home for his first official solo project, Sir Luscious Left Foot.
By all accounts this has been a great weekend for the Outkast member, who just confirmed that he signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings.
Big Boi announced the good news on Twitter Friday night, stating, "THE INK IS ON THE PAPER!!! "BREAKING NEWS!!!!" It’s OFFICIAL! BIG BOI signs SOLO album DEAL with DEF JAM!!! More details to come.”
The rapper has been saying he wanted to release Sir Luscious Left Foot on Def Jam since last summer. No official drop date has been announced, but there’s word the album is slated to come out in May.
We’ve been hearing about Sir Lucsious Left Foot for so long now, we’d have thought Big Boi already put the project out. The rapper has put out several singles from the album, including “Royal Flush” (featuring Raekwon and Outkast partner Andre 3000), the T.I.-backed “Tangerine” and the Mary J. Blige collaboration “Sumthin’s Gotta Give.” Now check out the video for “Fo Yo Sorrows” below.
