Marvin Sapp has made history on the Billboard charts with his new album, Here I Am.

Marvin’s recently released project debuted on the Billboard 200 at #2 on the chart with about 76,000 abums sold, which is the highest any gospel album has ever ranked in the chart’s history.

Before this week, that honor went to God’s Property from Kirk Franklin’s Nu Nation in 1997, according to
Billboard.com. The album topped out at #3 on the Billboard 200.

Here I Am, released March 16, outperformed predecessor Thirsty, which peaked at #28. His new release also snagged the #1 spot on Billboard’s Gospel, R&B, Top Christian/Gospel and Top Christian/Gospel Digital Albums charts.

While Marvin only reached #8 on the Overall Digital Album Chart, he rounded out his week of win by earning #1 on the Christian Music Video with his DVD for Here I Am.
