Malinda Williams lands BET pilot

Malinda Williams has snagged a starring role on BET’s new romantic sitcom.
According The Hollywood Reporter, BET will tape a pilot for "Let’s Stay Together," which focuses on a newly engaged couple. Malinda will play a pediatrician named Stacy, and Bert Belasco will play her contractor hubby-to-be.
If picked up, the series would follow the lovebirds as they try to blend their modern lifestyle into a conventional marriage.
Joyful Drake and Erica Hubbard have signed on to play Stacy’s sisters. RonReaco Lee joins the cast as Joyful’s husband, who is following in Barack Obama’s footsteps by becoming a legal aid for a non-profit organization.
"Let’s Stay Together" is the second original sitcom that BET has created, and the network hopes it will prove to be a good companion show for "The Game."
Speaking of "The Game," BET has announced that the show will be helmed Salim Akil, husband of show creator Mara Brock Akill. Mara will still be an executive producer, though.
