Game sets June album release

Game is reuniting with Dr. Dre for a few tracks on his forthcoming R.E.D. album, due this summer.

Game has announced R.E.D. will drop on June 15, and the release can’t come fast enough! The rapper has lined up some stellar assistance for the project with Pharrell and Dr. Dre taking turns on the soundboard.

"My two favorite producers are helping me with the direction of this album, I couldn’t be in a better position,” Game gushed in a press release. "Dre is a hip-hop legend and one of the reasons I’m making music.  To be working so closely with him again…man, I don’t even have words to describe it."

Dre won’t just be producing, though. He’s also spitting a few bar for the album. Although Pharrell is focused on making the R.E.D. hot, he’s really excited to get in the studio with Dre, too.

“I’m excited for the world to hear the many facets of [Game’s] character,” said Pharrell. “What’s even crazier is that as a fan, I cannot believe I am actually producing songs on the same album as Dr.Dre. Humbling, man. I owe Game for that one.”

The flagship single off of R.E.D. is “It Must Be,” a street anthem that borrows heavily on the West Coast sound. How could we expect anything less for Game’s comeback, though?

However, the Grammy-nominated rapper thinks fans will have  “Ain’t No Doubt About It,” his collaboration with Justin Timberlake, on heavy rotation this year.
