VH1 announces ‘Football Wives’

Look at like a reality version of “The Game”: VH1 is expanding its woman-behind-the-man franchise to the NFL.

While the jury is still out on “Basketball Wives,” the network has announced that it’s working on “Football Wives.”

The series will follow several women attached to professional football players. These ladies live the good life, but is it all it’s cracked up to be? We’re sure the show will show us that not-so-glamorous side of the gridiron.

While VH1 seems to be looking for women that are currently married to NFL stars, we have to wonder if there will be any exes (be they wives, fiancées or baby mamas) in the “Football Wives” set. Specifically we want to know if Ginny Barber, Tiki Barber’s estranged wife, will be part of the show. Only time will tell.

VH1 hasn’t announced who will be on the show, but “Football Wives” will start airing later this year.  Like its predecessor, the show will air in eight 30-minute episodes.
