Couple: Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke
It seemed like there was a little trouble in paradise for Chad and Cheryl. Something seemed to be on her mind, avoiding any unnecessary contact with the NFL player, which really concerned him.
When Chad asked what’s wrong, Cheryl just said she was “under a lot of pressure.”
That tension seemed to carry over to the competition because their quickstep was a little too loose. Even if their routine was based on The Jungle Book, the moves should have been a bit more crisp.
We still love Chad, but we have seen him do better.
Could it be that his mind wasn’t completely on the dance? He seemed to get a little defensive during judging about how much contact him and Cheryl have. Hmmm…we wonder.
The judges definitely noticed the difference, and they made no bones about pointing out Chad and Cheryl’s problem.
“It was a little bit too wild,” said judge Bruno Tonioli, who also pointed out that Chad’s frames were weak. “You had a bit of a breakthrough last week, but tonight it really to pieces.”
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said Chad and Cheryl’s jive was very up and down, with some parts looking very polished while others were just bad. “It was very uneven,” she explained.
“You did your best,” judge Len Goodman said, going surprisingly easy on Chad. “I thought, overall, it was pretty good.”
In the end, Chad and Cheryl swung off with 18 points out of 30.
