Lil’ Jon has announced the release of his first studio project in four years.

The rapper told MTV News that he plans to drop Crunk Rock on June 8, and he thinks its really going to reflect the way John’s brand of “crunk” has evolved. What the rapper once-intended to be a hip-hop album with a rock edge has now been fused with Lil’ Jon’s musical tastes as a professional DJ.

“Initially, when I started work on it I was collaborating with a lot of rock producers and rock musicians," he said. “The new energy started to come around me by being in the club. It started meaning we’re crunk all the time, we party like rock stars, we live life to the fullest — that’s what crunk rock really means now.”

Crunk Rock had been held up for four years because for years because of a dispute with his old label. But that extra time gave Lil’ John time to wrangle producers like David Guetta and Drumma Boy.  Pitbull, R. Kelly and LMFAO make guest appearances on the album.
