Nas claims that having to support his high-profile ex-wife and their son is too rich for his blood.
TMZ.com reports that the rapper said he can’t afford to pay more than $87,000 in back child and spousal support. A judge also told Nas that he must shell out $10,000 a month in spousal support to his ex, Kelis, and an undisclosed amount in child support to stay current on his payments.
The rapper filed court papers asking the judge to reconsider the payment amount, which were based on projections of Nas earning more than $152,000 a month. The documents state that he actually makes “substantially less than that amount.”
