Tyra Banks is looking to add “publisher” to her long list of roles with the release of her first novel.
The supermodel-turned-media-maven announced on her Web site that she is penning a book, titled Modelland (pronounced “model land”).
“I said I was going to do it, and here it is!” Trya wrote. “It’s for all the girls and guys who want a lot more FANTASY in their lives… and some fierceness and magic, romance and mystery, crazy and wild adventures, and yeah, some danger too.”
Tyra’s been dreaming up Modelland for a while, but she said that many of the characters are based on real people that she has known over the years. Don’t expect them all to be glowing caricatures, though, as the soon-to-be author pointed that some of the people she’ll be writing about aren’t so nice. Hmmm, does that mean a Naomi Campbell-esque villain could be featured in the book?!
As Tyra describes it, Modelleand, the first of three books under her deal with Random House, “takes you to a fantastical place you’ve never seen, or heard about, or read about before … Where dreams come true and life can change in the blink of a smoky eye."
Although the plot of the book sounds like something you’d find in the Young Adult section of your local Barnes & Noble, Tyra feels it’s something anyone between the ages of 8 and 80 can enjoy.
