Eddie Murphy has plans to don several fat suits again for a third installment of The Nutty Professor franchise.
Eddie told “Access Hollywood” that he’s been developing ideas for another prospective Professor movie.
“You know what, there might be another Nutty Professor,”he said. “We finished a script to that that’s kinda funny. I think we’ll be doing that soon.”
Whether or not Universal picks up the film all depends on whether the studio likes his ideas. “If the studios want to do it, we’ll do it,” Eddie explained. “If you don’t see it, the studio was like, ‘This isn’t funny.’”
However, the movie’s fate also hinges on how much of a box office draw Universal thinks Eddie is. The Nutty Professor and Nutty Professor II: Meet the Klumps both did really well at the box office, grossing more than $430 million combined.
There are also whispers that another Beverly Hills Cop movie might be coming down to the pipeline, too. But according to Eddie, fans shouldn’t hold their breath.
“I don’t know, they’ve been developing that Beverly Hills Cop [sequel] for years and years and years,” Eddie said. “I don’t know what ‘s going on with that.”
