Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough have taken the top prize on “Dancing With the Stars.”
After 10 weeks of competition and increasingly precise routines, it wasn’t a shock to see Nicole and Derek walk away with the coveted mirrorball. But they didn’t get it without a fight.
On Tuesday’s “DWTS” season finale Nicole faced off against Olympic Gold medalist Evan Lysacek, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and their respective professional partners. Each couple was allowed to repeat their favorite dance from the season, and each of them chose the sassy, sultry Argentine tango.
For each star, the Argentine tango was their strongest routine of the season and getting to do it again only meant they had time to improve their moves.
While Nicole and Derek maintained their perfect 30, Evan and Erin took a hit, each scoring two points lower than they did in the original performances.
As a result, Erin and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated in the first round of the finale, leaving Evan and Nicole in the running for this season’s championship.
We’re not going to brag or anything, but we told ya so! When put up against the other two stars, Erin was outclassed. This isn’t to say she didn’t do a great job this season, but Evan and Nicole played the game on a whole different level. Kudos to her for making it to the finale, though!
In end, Evan had to settle for silver (figuratively speaking) as the Pussycat Doll left no room for error in the final round. That determination for perfection made Nicole the Season 10 champion.
We’re excited that Nicole won and we loved her performances, but one of our favorite segments from last night’s finale was “DWTS” celebration of all things jiggly. Cue Niecy Nash, Pamela Anderson and lots of booty shaking.
