Nearly a year after Michael Jackson’s tragic, shocking death Joe is faulting Katherine for their son’s demise.
Joe told News of the World that he feels Katherine is ultimately to blame in their son’s untimely death. Why? Because she wasn’t living with him.
“She didn’t want to do that because she was afraid that she was invading his privacy,” Joe said. “We argued about that several times. “
Joe, who admitted the he thought Michael was looking frail in his final days, felt that the fallen pop icon needed his mom around. The Jackson patriarch argued that her presence may have been a relief for their famous son.
“I told her. I said, ‘This would never have happened if you had went and been with him,’” he added. “’Maybe by you being with him things would have went much better than what they did. We done lost our son now.’”
Joe told reporters that he was so mad that Katherine didn’t heed his advice that he wouldn’t even give her a hug when she broke down in tears at the sight of Michael’s lifeless body.
"I said, ‘If you had listened to me Michael would be living now!’ I kept thinking about the times I had stood in front of her saying something was wrong,” he recalled. "I couldn’t bottle up my feelings. Katherine didn’t say a word – I had to get away from her. If she’d done what I asked, Michael would be here today. I am incensed with her. She could have made a difference."
This accusation comes just over a week before the one-year anniversary of Michael’s death on June 25. They’re bold statements for a man who has been getting money from Katherine, according to TMZ.com.
Joe is reportedly seeking an allowance from his son’s estate, despite being purposely left out of Michael’s will, and Katherine is supporting that endeavor.
