Sheree Whitfield is snapping back at accusations that she’s delinquent on legal fees in her divorce.
As we reported yesterday, Georgia law firm Weinstock & Scavo filed suit against the “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, charging that she owes them more than $95,000 in attorneys’ fees. Now, Sheree’s camp is publically rebuking those claims, according to TheYBF.com.
"The recent legal allegations being made against my client Sheree Whitfield are simply ludicrous,” BJ Coleman, Sheree’s rep, said in a statement. “Sheree Whitfield is not someone who does not pay her bills. She is a businesswoman, mother, and television star.”
Supposedly Sheree has already paid off more than $200,000 of her court tab on her own. By comparison, her ex-husband, former NFL player Bob Whitfield, has only $60,000 paid of his legal bill. And he allegedly still owes her money from their divorce settlement. Once he hands her the cash, Sheree will pay off the outstanding interest on her attorneys’ fees.
In the meantime, Sheree is very upset that new of the latest lawsuit has tarnished her public image.
“Her integrity, honesty and moral values have made her the successful woman she is today,” BJ added, “and unfortunately these charges seem to stem from greedy individuals who seek to capitalize on her recent fame and notoriety."
