Rapper Lil Boosie could face possibly face the death penalty now that he’s been indicted on charges of first-degree murder.
A grand jury formally accused Boosie Thursday in the October shooting death of Terry Boyd, WAFB.com reports. According to investigators, Terry was in his home when he was killed; supposedly the gunmen were outside the residence and fired shots through the victim’s window.
District Attorney Hillary Moore said that if Boosie is convicted of first-degree murder, he could be sentenced to death.
This morning the Louisiana rapper, who is currently serving time for parole violation, was transferred to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison from the Hunt Correctional Institute.
The lyricist was met by reporter cameras while being escorted to a police vehicle as he exited Hunt today. “I’m innocent, completely innocent,” Boosie said when asked if he had anything to say to fans.
Two others, 17-year-old Michael Louding and Adrian Pittman, 36, were formally charged with first-degree murder in Terry’s death as well.
Boosie was also indicted on drug charges yesterday including three counts of possession with intent to sell codeine, ecstasy and marijuana.
