With so much news about “Entourage” and “True Blood,” we want to know when we’ll see Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose on HBO again.
“The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” debuted in March 2009 to rave reviews from American audiences. When it faded to black after seven episodes, was it the last time we’d see Jill and Anika play the private investigators?
HBO is usually pretty good about updating viewers to all the latest news on their favorite series, but so far the network has been silent about Jill’s show. However, while out on tour with Maxwell, she’s been telling audiences that the “No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” will be returning to the network.
When S2S asked HBO about Jill’s claims, network rep stated, “We are currently exploring ways to bring the characters back to HBO.”
While most people would take the statement as confirmation that HBO is working on season two of “No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” audiences shouldn’t jump to conclusions. The network is simply weighing its options for the show at the moment.
“One possibility we are considering involves producing two movies with The Weinstein Company,” HBO told S2S. “Toward that goal, we have already hired writers to work on the project.”
