Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, it may be the wedding of the season, but will Mashonda be there?
As the long list of guests is compiled for the wedding of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys later this month, there is one person who is certain that they will not be attending.
In a recent bare-all interview with Vibe magazine, Mashonda admits that she would not be present at the wedding even if she were invited. "Not out of malice, but because weddings are sacred. It’s just not my place," Mashonda said in the interview.
She spoke openly however, about her reasoning for attending Swizz Beatz birthday party, which Alicia was front and center for.
"The only reason I went to his birthday party was because he invited me and I did that for myself,” Mashonda explained. “I needed to see them together for it to transfer. And I was like ‘Wow this is real.’ We were still totally married. We had a divorce that was nowhere near final, but I just needed to see them in action for it to be real to me and it was definitely real," she continued in the interview.
The rest of the two-part interview dives into Mashonda’s side of the story and discusses in detail how she has moved on. And she speaks candidly about the new man in her life, producer Michael Honablue, who she has been spotted with. Mashonda describes Honablue as a good guy in the article.
"Yeah. It’s only been two months, [but] Michael and I have a really good thing. I’ve been really private with my personal life, but I will say that Michael and myself share a lot of characteristics. He’s just a good guy."
