LeToya has decided to leave Capitol Records over promotional differences with the label.
According to an exclusive report from That Grape Juice, LeToya has split from Capitol Records, which has been her label home since her debut solo album in 2005.
A source close to the situation said that LeToya has been at odds with the label since the release of her sophomore LP Lady Love. The album has only sold 120,000 copies to date.
Lady Love was subject to release date delays, minimal promotion and confusing single choices. According to the report, LeToya was upset with the album’s handing. Her first album LeToya was released in 2006 and went certified platinum.
The singer, who recently began an endorsement with Luster, is still working on her third album. An official announcement about her parting ways with Capitol Records is expected to be released on her website.
