Rodney King is ready to settle down with the one of the people who decided to award him $3.8 million as part of a settlement.

RadarOnline.com reports that Rodney, who entered the national spotlight after being beaten by LAPD, has gotten engaged to Cynthia Kelly. She served as a juror during the controversial 1994 trial that results in a substantial cash settlement for Rodney.

The couple went on their first date the day after the court battle ended, when Cynthia met Rodney and his lawyer for pizza. The couple has had an on-again-off-again relationship ever since. Although they split up before Rodney’s stint on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew,” they reunited for good just four months ago.

"We hadn’t spoken to each other for many years, and it just so happened that we reconnected," Cynthia said. "It was like we were never apart from one another."

Cynthia admitted that until recently she wanted to keep their relationship quiet to avoid public speculation—especially since she was the only Black juror picked for the trial. She insinuated that she helped increase the settlement offered to Rodney.

"She is a godsend, a blessing in my life," Rodney told RadarOnline.com. "I don’t know what I would have done without her in my life… I can’t wait to make her my wife!

No wedding date has been announced at this time.
