Paul Wall is really, really sorry that he whaled on an angry fan with his mic earlier this week.

On Sunday, TMZ cameras caught Paul scrapping with a fan at the Low Low Car Show in San Antonio, Texas. The fight started when a man in the front row flipped Paul off. Paul hit him twice with his microphone before security pulled the rapper back.

Paul realized that the show of violence was a bad look and that, ultimately, the entire audience suffered because of his temper, so he issued a public mea culpa, stating, “I want to sincerely apologize to my San Antonio fans … for allowing myself to become distracted during my recent performance. I apologize for temporarily taking my eyes off that goal.”

Paul closed his apology by promising that he’d never allow this to happen again. “I will learn and grow from this incident and be a better person, artist and performer as a result.”
