Boris Kodjoe is tired of all the chatter about the fate of his NBC action drama, “Undercovers.”
For some reason, people seem to be under the impression that “Undercovers” is in danger of being cancelled. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, according to Boris.
"We’re doing great," he told BV Buzz. He explained that this year has been an unusual year for new shows because none of them have really taken off yet. New series have faced a number of challenges this year “from programming to budgets and the economy as a whole,” but Boris said that “Undercovers” has a pretty solid standing.
“The bottom line is, we have a great show and everyone who sees the show loves the show, which is great,” said Boris. "NBC and Warner Bros. love the show and they’re supporting the show.”
The actor assures that his show is now in a position to grow and find its audience, which is great news for “Undercovers” fans—of which, he’s probably the biggest one.
“I’m beyond-the-moon excited about doing this,” he exclaimed. “It’s literally the first time in a long time that two African-Americans have been able to lead a one-hour drama on NBC. It’s been over 30 years! So to be in this position is just a tremendous honor and I’m proud to be a part of it."
