T.I. did a major civic duty on Wednesday by helping police talk a suicidal man down from a ledge.
The rapper was in the crowd at the base of a 22-story office building in Atlanta where police were trying to keep a man from jumping to his death. Not satisfied just standing by, T.I. felt compelled to step in and offer some words of encouragement.
"I told him it ain’t that bad. It’ll get better, to put the time and effort into making it better," Tip told the Associated Press. "I just reminded him know that I know. It looks bad right now, but it can turn around."
The rapper raced to the scene after he heard about he situation on the radio. To prove that he was actually there and trying to help, the rapper took a cell phone video of himself and sent it up to the would-be jumper.
T.I. and authorities were eventually able to talk the unidentified man down from the ledge, who was then taken to an area hospital.
Unfortunately for Tip, this good deed doesn’t negate his recent trouble with the law. He’s due in court on Friday for a parole hearing after he and Tiny were arrested in Los Angeles early last month on charges of suspected drug offense.
