Birdman, the mind behind Cash Money Records, is looking to get into the publishing game.

During a recent chat with NBC Miami, the music exec/rapper explained some expansions that his label is getting ready to take on.

“We’re publishing books,” Birdman said, confirming some hearsay that Cash Money has a deal with Simon & Schuster. “I’m just trying to grow as a team with the publishing company, the merch company and the books…and movies.”

To Birdman, all the new ventures will serve as a dynamic complement Cash Money’s core business of music.

“It’s all circling to our entertainment,” Birdman explained. “So I think the book is something that can go with the music. Publishing goes with the music. The merch goes with the music. And the movies go with the music so we stay within our realm.”

There’s no word yet, however, on when Birdman’s first book will come out or what it will be about.
