Nicki Minaj is disputing rumors she fired Diddy as her manager on the basis that he’s not exactly her manager anyway.
Bad Boy CEO, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has clarified his ‘non-typical’ manager/artist business relationship with the Young Money Star, Nicki Minaj. According to Puff, he assists Minaj but does not take on the full manager role.
"I don’t go around saying I’m her manager. We work together in a certain type of unofficial capacity. But I don’t really know where they really got that from," Diddy told Hot97’s Funkmaster Flex. "We still work together but it’s not about going around saying I’m her manager — she really does a lot of things by herself. And whatever ways I can assist the situation, or whatever that title is, that’s what I do. I play my position on the team."
Diddy believes that he has a lot of knowledge that should be given to artists that can help their brand go to the next level.
"It has grown to be not just about me, not just about Bad Boy but the future brands that are coming up and the future super stars," said Diddy, who also works closely with Rick Ross. "With the Nicki thing, that was even something me and her made sure we didn’t define or kept a mystery.
Earlier this month, a fabricated statement was supposedly made previously by Nicki claiming that she fired Diddy.
However, members of Nicki’s inside circle confirmed that the alleged statements were false, as was news that she had hired Benny Medina as her new manager were said to be false. Later, Nicki came forward to dismiss the rumor via Twitter, writing, "I’ve never met Benny Medina a day in my life. We good on this side."
