President Barack Obama is imploring everyone to get to the polls and vote in today’s midterm elections.

News outlets have been reporting on it. Entertainers have been commenting about it. But you have the chance to do something about it. We’re talking about Election Day 2010, people!

Today, in districts all across the country, folks are voting for governors and congressmen, and the president wants to make sure that you make your voice heard.

“You can prove one more time that change comes from the bottom up,” President Obama said in a video released today.

There is widespread speculation that polls could favor Republicans. Conservative candidates have made it clear that if they regain control of congress they would repeal many of Obama’s initiatives. The first target on their list would be healthcare reform.

“This election is about our future,” Obama said in a video. “It’s about what we want our country to be. If you vote, you get a say in that future. But if you don’t, you leave the decisions that affect your life up to somebody else.”
