apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas has confirmed some big news for his group.
“We thought Oprah was big, but to perform at the Super Bowl where a lot of the greats have performed, I’m getting nervous this time around,” apl.de.ap told Rap-Up.com about the Peas’ upcoming half-time performance at Super Bowl XLIV.
Word that the group would grace the field at Cowboy Stadium on February 6 leaked last month, but the news hadn’t been confirmed until today. Of course what’s playing for a few million people which this group has played for packed arenas around the world?
BEP is glad for the chance to freshen up the highly coveted gig.
“It’s a great opportunity because usually, the Super Bowl, they pick rock legends and stuff,” apl.de.ap said, “so this time around you get a little different taste of different music genres.”
He added that the Peas will deliver a powerhouse medley of their biggest hits.
“Lots of energy and a lot of our songs you always hear at the sporting events. So at least in that way, we can tell what kind of music they like,” apl explained. “We’re going to utilize all the songs that they utilize from us, [like] ‘I Gotta Feeling.’ I don’t know, maybe flying over the scoreboard or something.”
