Janet Jackson has made a change to the beginning of her world tour: it’s starting in a different city.
The singer has announced that her 35-city Numbers Ones World Tour will now kick off in Singapore. Originally, it was the second stop on her schedule of shows, but fans prompted her to make a change in the itinerary.
“We’ll be together in Singapore on February 7th and I can’t wait to sing, dance, and be up close and personal with all of you," Janet said in a statement. "Your votes are helping me decide where to bring this very intimate, very different show."
Tickets for Janet’s show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will go on sale January 7. This switch now means that Hong Kong, which would have been the first stop, has been moved to the second slot on the tour. But no matter where the series of shows kicks off, Janet promises that fans will be in for a very special, intimate performance.
"It’s not about effects, it’s not an extravaganza, it’s not about being as big as in the past," she said. "This one is all about you and me."
