The Oprah Winfrey Network will help you get your money right with a new series later this year.
Think of it as “Clean House” for your bank account!
OWN has announced that Suzie Orman will host a primetime financial makeover show, tentatively titled “Money Class,” where she teaches people in tight spots how to save themselves.
“Suze Orman is the rock star of personal finance, and her straight-forward advice will help people that are in need of a financial wake-up call,” said OWN Chief Creative Officer Lisa Erspamer.
“Nothing can teach you more about who you really are than your money,” said Suze, who also created “Money Class.”
On the show, Suze will address the circumstances and personal decisions that have contributed to people’s financial problems. After a quick diagnosis, the financial guru will help transform her subjects’ lives so they can move in a more secure direction.
Suze’s strategy will include challenges that encourage people to make more fiscally responsible decisions. She will also focus on helping them set attainable financial goals.
There’s no word on when “Money Class” starts shooting, but it’s slated to premiere this fall. Suze has already been featured on one OWN show since it launched January 1: She co-hosts “Ask Oprah’s All Stars” alongside Dr. Phil McGraw and Dr. Mehmet Oz.
OWN has gotten off to a very successful start, averaging 1 million viewers during its primetime block on the day it launched. Now, the New York Times predicts that the new network will turn a profit in its first year.
That’s not a projection we’re willing to bet against after watching “Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes.” The series gives viewers an intimate look at what it takes to put together stellar episodes of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which also highlights Oprah’s tenacious business sense.
