Tisha Campbell Martin wants you to eat more yogurt.
As the new spokeswoman for Yoplait, Tisha be featured in radio, print and digital ads encouraging Black women to be healthier now and go after their fitness goals.
“I’m so excited to be a part of this campaign with Yoplait,” Tisha said. “Many African-American women tend to juggle a lot at once. So, we put off taking care of ourselves until tomorrow. That’s why I support the idea that the best time to make our health a priority is today.”
In addition to appearing in ads, Tisha will be contributing to a weekly blog on Essence.com. She’s also scheduled to attend a Radio One health and wellness event in January, where she’ll be emphasizing the benefits of eating well.
Studies show that yogurt supports the body by providing healthy bacteria and calcium for bones, among other things.
“With 60% of women not getting the calcium they need, it’s especially necessary to encourage small but impactful lifestyle changes today for the long term,” said Laura Eisen, an executive at General Mills, the brand that produces Yoplait.
Laura added, “Addressing the needs of our consumers is important to us and we hope this program will resonate and spark a positive difference in the health and wellness of African-American women.”
Since her role on “My Wife & Kids,” Tisha has been busy with charity work and motherhood. However, she’ll be on the small-screen this year in a recurring role on “The Paul Reiser Show,” a new series on NBC.
