Chad Ochocinco is tired of his most recent moniker and he wants his old name back.
Chad recently told ESPN that he thinks it’s time to go back to his birth name, stating, "I’ve done enough with Ochocinco." With the three TV shows ("The Ultimate Catch", "The T. Ocho Show" and "Dancing With the Stars"), and a run with the Cincinnati Bengals under his belt, we can’t exactly argue with the man’s logic.
The NFL player shocked fans three years ago when he announced that he’d be changing his name to his team number, 85, three years ago. We’re not sure if their reaction had to do more with the name change itself, or whether they were surprised because Ochocinco isn’t the correct Spanish translation of 85.
Chad didn’t go into details about what made him want to switch back to his original surname: Johnson. There’s speculation that he’s changing his name again because his future with the Bengals isn’t certain, and if he switches teams, he may not have the same number.
One thing’s for sure, though: Somewhere, Chad’s fiancee, Evelyn Lozada, is breathing a sigh of relief.
