Chad Johnson might be engaged, but he’s not exactly trying on a tuxedo or recruiting groomsmen just yet.

The NFL player revealed Friday to "Entertainment Tonight" that he and fianc
ée Evelyn Lozada of "Basketball Wives" haven’t set a wedding date yet.

"I haven’t made wedding plans," he admitted. "Right now, I’m still in the stage of trying to make sure we’re on the same page before we [take that step]."

Chad is determined to make sure this is the right move for him to make. Despite the fact that he and Evelyn got engaged very early on in their relationship, he thinks itse He’s not trying to get married only to say "I don’t" a few months later.

"It has to work. There ain’t no going back. I done made that commitment," Chad said. "It’s like when I decided to play football. I made that commitment to play the game and there would be ups and downs … the same thing will go for her now."

That said, it could take a while before Chad and Evelyn take that walk down the aisle because their personalities have to sync up. It seems like they’re having a tough time getting along.

“To be honest, we bump heads. Our personalities," he said. "I can put my foot down but I’m trying to let her feel like she wears the pants. That’s what you’ve got to do sometimes. You’ve got to reverse it.”

We hope this doesn’t mean another broken engagement for Evelyn. While Chad doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon, he’s warning other men about popping the question too early.

"Don’t get engaged, man. Don’t get engaged," Chad advised. "She done put a stop to all the spending and all the having fun and I’m on a budget every month now and it’s frustrating because that wild side and that fun Chad is going away. I’m so businesslike because of that other half."
