Lil Wayne has decided to hold off on debuting the video for "6 foot 7 foot" until it’s just right.
MTV News reports that Weezy is still putting the finishing touches on "6 foot 7 foot," which was supposed to premiere tonight at 8 p.m. EST as part of a special titled "MTV First: Lil Wayne."
"6 foot 7 foot" is the lead single from Wayne’s first album out of prison, The Carter IV, and it features his newest Young Money signee, Cory Gunz. It’s a move similar to how he introduced Drake and Nicki Minaj, who have gone on to become two of the hottest rappers in the game right now.
He thinks the strategy will work again for Cory.
"You know, I put Nicki on the right songs, I put Drake on the right songs; I picked the right song," Wayne told MTV News. "So, I knew people were going to look at my first record [out of prison] like, ‘I want to know what he’s talking about on his first record.’ And, I gave you the jewel at the end. It’s like I’m forcing it on you, you got to hear this. It made everybody who didn’t know Cory Gunz [say], ‘Who is that?’"
He’s right, since Cory Gunz was a trending topic on Twitter after the song debuted.
There’s no word onwhen "6 Foot 7 Foot" will come out, but pics from the set indicate that Wayne could be playing a rapper in the video.
