Carmelo Anthony traded to Knicks

Carmelo Anthony is in an empire state of mind after being traded to the New York Knicks.

Now having his wedding in New York makes so much more sense!

The New York Daily News reports that the Denver Nuggets traded Carmelo and others to the Knicks last night.  Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Renaldo Balkman and Anthony Carter will be joining him in New York.

In exchange, the Knicks are sending Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov to Denver. The Knicks also gave Denver a 2014 first-round draft pick to sweeten the deal.

The trade, which won’t be finalized until later today,  comes after months of rumors and speculation that Melo would be taking his talents to the New York team. According to ESPN.com
, Carmelo will likely sign a $65 million 3-year extension with the Knicks. The trade will allow him to play on the same team as his good friend Amare Stoudemire.

Fans paying close attention to Carmelo’s schedule may have already anticipated this news as the NBA player skipped out on practicing with the Nuggets last night. Instead, he stayed in Los Angeles to tape an appearance on “Conan.”

Reportedly, Carmelo could be rocking a Knicks jersey as early as tomorrow.
