VH1 is following LaLa Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony to New York!
Hot on the heels of news that Carmelo has been traded to the New York Knicks, VH1 has announced plans for a show chronicling his family’s move to The Big Apple, tentatively titled “LaLa’s Full Court Life.”
The show will mostly center around LaLa, with whom the network’s audience seems to identify, despite her seemingly charmed life.
“Viewers connect with LaLa because despite the fairy tale wedding and NBA star husband, she is a real, down to Earth, hardworking woman who stays true to herself,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production, VH1. “The best thing about the new series is that while pursuing and realizing her dreams, LaLa gets to take us back to her home in New York, where her story began.”
The new series, slated to debut in August, will go a lot like “LaLa’s Full Court Wedding,” which previously aired on the network. The upcoming show will also follow LaLa as she tries to juggle work, family and a social life. Only this time, instead of planning a wedding, she’ll be packing up to move to New York.
There’s no word on when “LaLa’s Full Court Life” will begin shooting, but the series is set to run for 10, 30-minute episodes.
To celebrate the new show, though, VH1 will air the finale of “LaLa’s Full Court Wedding” February 27 at 7 p.m. EST/PST. Viewers will be able to chat live with LaLa during the show, which fans can join via the twitter hashtag #FullCourtWedding or by following @LaLa or @VH1.
