    Fans hate on Beyonce’s ‘tan’

The blogosphere is buzzing about Beyonce’s recent fashion shoot with a French magazine.

The Grammy Winner and House of Dereon fashionista applied makeup a bit darker than her normal tone for the editorial spread.

It’s ironic that Bey, who is often criticized for looking lighter and lighter as the years go by, decided to do a complete 180 and show fans what she’d look like as a more chocolately sister.

Unfortunately, a quick scan of Twitter indicates that most of her fans aren’t happy with the artistic concept.

One follower wrote, “not sure how 2 feel abt this beyonce tomfoolery”

Another condemned the age-old schtick altogether. “I dunno why we are even still having this convo. Blackface will NEVER be positive, no matter how you look at it.”

At least one user was a bit more compassionate. “This ‘Beyonce-in-blackface’ may not have been ill in its intentions, but can we all agree that the $h_t is tacky as hell?”

Another said, “She make me wanna throw-my-blackface-out-the-windowwww, cuz she’s a jiggaboo, a jiggaboo!”

    Ted Williams comes to TV

The unfathomable story of Ted Williams continues. The once destitute man, now known as the “Golden Voice,” will be the star of an upcoming reality show.

That’s not hard to believe, considering Ted’s incredible journey from obscurity to fame over the last few months.

TMZ reports that the show will be called “Second Chances at Life,” and Ted, who recently entered and then exited rehab, knows a thing or two on that topic.

There’s no word on what network is picking up the show or when it will air.

More Republican shade for Michelle O

Last week it was Sarah Palin. This week Republican Rush Limbaugh took a shot at Michelle Obama and her Let’s Move! campaign by insinuating that she doesn’t follow her own dietary advice.

“Our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Rush said. “If we’re supposed to go out and eat nothing, if we’re supposed to eat roots and berries and tree bark, show us how.”

After receiving criticism for his seemingly unsolicited attack on Michelle, Rush did not back down. He continued and threw in some insults to her sense of style.

“Well, take a look at some pictures. Given where she wears her belts — I mean she wears them high up there around the bustline. Isn’t just about everything about her ‘below the belt’ when you look at the fashion sense she has?”

Last week, Sarah Palin made an off-color joke about Michelle’s anti-obesity initiative.

    Tyler’s DVD goes gold

Tyler Perry’s movie magic doesn’t stop at the theaters. For Colored Girls, has sold more than $1 million copies during its first week on DVD.

The film grossed $38 million. Who would have thought there was that much more to be made. However, it’s no big surprise, since Tyler’s movies have a large and faithful following.

Plus, the film’s all-star cast, many of whom have been nominated for NAACP Awards this year, doesn’t hurt.

“Released during Black History Month and filled with wonderful special features, the home entertainment release provides people with another opportunity to watch this forceful film,” said Ron Schwartz, Lionsgate Home Entertainment VP.

The proceeds from the play will go to the U.S. Dream Academy which helps at-risk youth.

    ‘Bad Girl’ bride

If you’re a fan of ‘Bad Girls’ on the Oxygen channel, then you know who Flo is, and you won’t believe what she’s up to.

The bisexual reality star has obviously picked a side, and Oxygen will roll the cameras as she prepares to walk down the aisle and become a mother.

That’s right. She’s pregnant. I guess that means no fighting.

The special will air Monday, Feb. 28. Watch the preview.

    BBD to release new music

Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe are slated to perform on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” tonight.

They’ll likely be singing one of their old favorites, but that’s not to suggest they’re resting on past success.

“We released a couple of songs in 2009 that we still have on iTunes — one called ‘Welcome to My Heart’ and another one called ‘You’ that did pretty decent without great radio exposure, just from the diehard fans,” Ricky told Billboard, “but at some point before the end of the summer, we’re definitely gonna put something new out, maybe an EP, just to get everybody excited.”

The fellas said they will be offering up a classic, like “Poison,” on tonight’s show, and they’re looking forward to rocking with The Roots.

Our manager “thought it’d be a good idea to bring a classic like ‘Poison’ to the TV screen with The Roots, and we couldn’t hold back on our excitement to play with them,” Ricky said.

However, audiences may still get a taste of new music from the group who will performing a second song that will be posted on the Jimmy Fallon site as a web exclusive.
