    Tyler Perry is giving fans another look at Madea’s Big Happy Family with a new trailer featuring Bow Wow and Teyana Taylor.

    From this teaser, it looks like Madea has taken on the task of bringing a shattered, squabbling family back together.



    Janet Jackson tops bestseller list

    Janet Jackson’s new book, True You, is flying off of store shelves, earning her a spot at the top of the New York Times Bestsellers list.

    True You discusses the singer-actress’ struggles with weight and body image.


    Willow to perform on ‘Oprah’

    Willow Smith will perform her latest single, “21st Century Girl” on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Tuesday.

    “Whip My Hair,” the first single from the mini Roc Nation artist, was a huge hit, and music fans are waiting to see if she can repeat that success.

    Tuesday won’t be Willow’s first time on “Oprah.” The 11-year-old joined her entire family on the talk show in 2010.

    Laz Alonzo breaks out

    Who wouldn’t mind seeing more of Laz Alonzo on a regular basis? Fans of the Avatar actor, who will star in the upcoming Jumping the Broom, will be able to get a weekly dose of Laz on the new A&E series “Breakout Kings,” which premieres next Sunday, March 6.

    “’Breakout Kings’ is about convicts who work with U.S. Marshals to catch escaped criminals,” said Malcolm Goodwin, who plays one of the criminals on the show.

    Laz plays Charlie Duchamp, a former U.S. Marine trying to live up to the legacy of his father, a retired U.S. Marshal with a long legacy.  

    “He’s by the book. He’s polished,” Laz said of his character. “It’s Charlie’s team.”

    Although Laz is probably best-known for his big-screen work, he’s guest-starred on several TV series, including “One on One,” “NCIS,” “CSI: Miami” and “Without a Trace.”

    Juvenile arrested

    Rapper Juvenile was arrested Saturday in Louisiana for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license, TMZ reports.

    Police stopped by Juvey’s studio after receiving an anonymous tip about the weed smell. After searching the home, police found the drugs which Juvenile allegedly admitted were his, according to MTV News.

    Juvenile and his producer Leroy Edwards were both arrested and released on bond.



    Singers serenade First Lady at White House

    During the celebration of Motown, which airs on PBS this Tuesday, Jamie Foxx, John Legend and others opened the show with a serenade to Michelle Obama.

    The First Lady was treated to renditions of the Motown hits, “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “Get Ready,” “Can’t Get Next to You” and other favorites.

    Eric Benét goes to the movies

    Grammy-nominated singer Eric Benét may be setting his sights on an Oscar. The R&B crooner has signed on to star in the independent film Trinity Goodheart.

    The film is centered around a 12-year-old girl who wants to reunite her family.
