    Prince sued by lawyers

Prince’s former attorneys have filed suit, requesting more than $700,000 in legal fees from the legendary singer.

Although Prince has reportedly paid the firm of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler more than $100,000, that does not completely cover the fees and expenses of the attorneys who helped him settle his divorce.

    Tyrese wants Lee Daniels

Tyrese wants Lee Daniels of Precious fame to direct the upcoming biopic of singing legend Teddy Pendergrass.

“I am playing Teddy Pendergrass. My dream director would be Lee Daniels, ’cause he’s from Philadelphia and he’s raw, knows how to tell the truth about characters and layers. He knows how to get people to go there. That would be my ideal situation. Lee Daniels would hit it out of the park,” Tyrese told Black Voices.

Although Tyrese has been in several movies, including the Transformers and Fast & Furious franchises, the Teddy Pendergrass role would be his first in which he has to sing. He said he avoided mixing acting and singing the past, but when it comes to Teddy, it’s different because the two were friends. In fact, Teddy told Tyrese, “I don’t want nobody else in this world to do this movie but you.”

Tyrese said, “At first it was an opportunity, now it’s a responsibility.”

    Christina Aguilera joins ‘The Voice’

It’s been a rough few weeks for Christina. She flubbed the words to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. She tumbled at the Grammys and then was detained after riding in the car with her boyfriend who was caught driving under the influence.

The good news is that Christina has just signed on to be a coach on NBC’s new show, “The Voice.” Maybe things are looking up!

“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Christina said.

The series has been compared to “American Idol” and follows hopefuls as they compete to become the next big vocal sensation.

However, the series does differ from Fox’s hit in that the coaches don’t get to see the contestants in the first round. The judges’ decision to move them forward will be based on the contestants’ singing ability.

The show is also different because the celebrities form teams that then compete against each other.

Cee-Lo Green has also signed on for the show.

Rodney King repeats history … sort of

Almost exactly 20 years after he was beaten by the Los Angeles Police Department, Rodney King was pulled over by cops.

This time he left the scene physically unscathed, but he did receive a citation for driving with a suspended license.

Rodney will be featured on CNN tonight as correspondent Don Lemon interviews him about his life two decades after that infamous night.
