    Nate Dogg passes away

    The hip-hop community has lost a legend with the death of Nate Dogg. reports that Nate passed away yesterday at the age of 41.

    There’s no word on the cause of his death at this time, but the East Coast crooner suffered strokes in 2007 and 2008 and had been in physical therapy since then.

    Rapper Snoop Dogg tweeted his condolences, writing,  “We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb. I love u buddy luv. U will always b wit me 4ever n a day.”


    “Basketball Wives” season 3 announced

    The ladies of “Basketball Wives” won’t have too much time between catfights before it’s back to work. VH1 has announced that the hit reality series will return this summer!

    The network revealed that season 3 of “Basketball Wives” is slated to premiere in June, but no specific air date has been set at this time.

    Although it’s not clear why VH1 is rushing production, cameras are sure to catch some great stuff as cast members each tackle the next set of challenges in their lives. Fans will see Shaunie working on her shoe line while still making time for her kids. Meanwhile Evelyn Lozada will be planning her nuptials to NFL player Chad Ochocinco as her BFF Jennifer Williams closes the book on her failed marriage to Eric Williams.

    Jennifer hooks up with Weezy

    Lil Wayne will lend his skills to the next release from Jennifer Lopez.

    “My next single, I believe, will be a song called, ‘I’m Into You,’ and it’s going to feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that,” Jenny said during an online “American Idol” chat.

    Jenny From the Block had high praise for Weezy.

    “I was listening to what he was saying and I just really enjoyed it,” she said. “He might be one of the best out there right now. He might be the best. He’s really good.”


    Fantasia returns to London

    Fantasia is ready to visit her friends across the pond again, but just for one night. The singer announced that she and her band will perform a one-night-stand at indigo2 on May 13, treating fans in the United Kingdom to some of her biggest hits, such as “Bittersweet,” “When I See You” and “Free Yourself.”

    “I’m so excited about coming back to the UK and having the chance to once again connect with my fans,” Fantasia said in a statement, “the people who love me and have been supporting me through everything. This show is going to be a real special, intimate experience for them and for me.”

    Nelly and Kelly Rowland reunite

    Years after trying to figure out their romantic situation in “Dilemma”, Nelly and Kelly Rowland hooked up again for “Gone.” 

    In the video posted below, the pair are enjoying themselves on sandy beaches and getting cozy at night.



    Q-Tip opens up about ATCQ doc

    It seems A Tribe Called Quest front man, Q-Tip, is still upset about how things with the group’s documentary, Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, have been handled.

    Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad recently sat down with MTV’s Sway to talk about the beef. According to Tip, it all started when he received an email that wasn’t meant for him. In it, the producers wrote that they’d remove the group members’ names from promotion materials and wrote, “…we’ll f— them on everything else.”

    Who wouldn’t be a little salty after that?

    Melanie Fiona as every woman

    Melanie Fiona recently got in front of the camera for Derek Blanks. The singer posed for an “every woman” campaign that featured her in an array of different outfits and styles.

    “The alter ego photo shoot is like a dream come true for me because I feel like I’m so many different people inside of this body,” she said.

    The shoot was in honor of Women’s Month and pays homage to the pioneering women who paved the way.
