Tami ain’t waitin’ around for ‘BBW’

Tami Roman isn’t sure whether she’s returning for the third season of “Basketball Wives,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean she won’t be on TV.

“I’m actually working on a pilot for USA. We’re praying that the pilot gets picked up.  We finish shooting next week and then we play the waiting game to see if it gets picked up,” Tami told DJ TT Torrez. “That’s another reason why I haven’t officially signed on to ‘Basketball Wives.’ If this pilot comes through, I don’t feel the need to do that.”

What’s the first reason Tami’s unsure about returning?

“All of last season, they really kind of put things together in a way that made me look crazy. I’m not saying that the things didn’t happen. Yes, I did go off at a charity event. Yes, I did argue with Evelyn in Spain, but there were things before those moments and things after those moments that people didn’t see. So, it always kind of just looked like I was coming out the side of my neck just going off on people. I felt like, for me, that was a misrepresentation to a certain extent,” Tami explained.

That’s not to suggest that she’s upset with friend and executive producer of the show, Shaunie O’Neal.

“I’m always going to be cool with Shaunie. Outside of her being cool with all of us, she’s the executive producer,” she said.

When asked if Shaunie was pimping the cast, Tami defended her friend. “To say that she’s pimping us: no. Anybody who does these shows knows what they’re getting into and has to be prepared for that, and she’s just reaping the benefit,” Tami said.

If she decides to return, Tami said she wants to offer viewers something more tangible than just petty drama.

“I need to be able to bring something real to the table–that’s some real stuff that’s going on in my life and that people may be experiencing in their lives that they could learn from me… I have to be able to bring something. That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” she said. “Is there something I have to offer outside of the drama that they’re going to bring into my life?”

Although Tami said she didn’t get to show the world her other side during the show’s taping or the reunion, fans will get to meet the real her when her book drops.

“When people read my story, they will really understand a lot about me and who I am as a person when they see all of the things that I’ve actually gone through and come out on the other side, still standing to be able to talk about it today,” said Tami, who clarified a few things about the book’s title.

“It’s called the Bitch Chronicles, but ‘BITCH’ is an acronym which stands for Believing in Total and Complete Honesty, because I feel like that is representative of me,” she said.
