Morgan Creek and Universal Pictures want to know you if you have what it takes to play Tupac Shakur.
The studios, in association with Skee.tv, have announced an online casting call for the upcoming Tupac biopic, which will be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Producers for Tupac are having a hard time figuring out who should play the rapper/poet. After all, Hollywood is packed with actors who could take on the role.
However, the powers that be have decided that perhaps an unknown actor might be best for the job. That’s why they’re opening the audition process to undiscovered talent. But don’t think you can just tie a bandana around your head and be Tupac. “We are looking for individuals who embody Tupac for this starring role,” a statement from the casting director read.
Actors who believe that they can bring Tupac’s essence to the big screen should register at InSearchOfTupac.com to audition. Each submission should include applicants reading a scene from the movie and performing a one-minute clip from his favorite Tupac song.
Audition videos, which shouldn’t be longer than five minutes, will be accepted between now and April 30. For more details, visit InSearchOfTupac.com.
