Couple: Wendy Williams & Tony Dovolani
Wendy took a step back this week, at least according to the judges and their scores. We thought, on the other hand, that Wendy hit her stride with the Foxtrot.
“It took me 23 years on the radio to really reach the pinnacle, it’s not going to take that long with dance,” Wendy assured Tony before learning this week’s dance.
Wendy wanted to center her song around her radio career, so how appropriate that she chose to dance to “Last Night A D.J. Saved My Life.” Anyone who has followed Wendy’s career has heard the story of how hard she’s had to work to become the Queen of All Media, including doing back-to-back gigs in New York and Washington D.C. and sleeping in her car.
“That was the time that I learned who I am as a person,” Wendy tearfully said. “Those were some really trying times, but I wouldn’t do it differently if I had to do it again.”
Using all of the memories to fuel her feet, Wendy hit the ballroom with courage on Monday.
Where last week her Quickstep was a little too slow for out liking, Wendy got in step for the Foxtrot. In our opinion, it’s just the right pace for the TV host, and she brought her personality to the dance like she hadn’t in previous weeks. We wonder how Big Kevin felt about his wife grabbing Tony’s butt, though?
Last night’s routine makes us confident that Wendy can step it up in the weeks to come, should she survive this week’s elimination.
