DaBrat not hungry for emcee beef

DaBrat is tired of beef between female emcees and is ready for the sisterhood to come together.
“I think we all need to look out for each other,” she told S2S in the May 2011 issue. DaBrat, who has been in touch with MC Lyte and Missy Elliot since her release, said she’ll be checking in on Remy Ma soon to see how she’s doing.
When asked about the tension between Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim, DaBrat didn’t pick sides. She likes both artists.

“I think it’s not enough female rappers for that,” she said. “For whatever reason, they were not letting the female emcees in, and I don’t know why. It’s a lot of hot female emcees…. I don’t know what it was, but hopefully with Nicki Minaj being out, people will pay more attention now to see that we got it crackin’, too.”
Regardless, DaBrat said she definitely respects Nicki’s swag.
“I appreciate what she does, and I like her music. I like the fact she doesn’t stay in a box. I like the fact that she sings. I like the fact that she wears different-colored wigs and that she’s all about the fashion. I dig that,” DaBrat said.
As a matter of fact, DaBrat said she’ll be changing up her own style.
“I don’t want to stray too far from myself because naturally I am a tomboy. Naturally I have a whole lot of swag, and I ain’t letting that go, but I’m tired of these braids,” she said.
Even though she’s not sure how she’s coming back, DaBrat said a return is certain.

“I was hoping for a ‘Ladies Night’ reunion. I spoke to Missy and she down for it. She want to do a song because she said this could possibly be her last album,” DaBrat said. “I’m definitely coming back out asap.”
The “Funkdafied” artist, who’s still under house arrest, hasn’t wasted a minute getting back on her grind. Jermaine Dupri and DaBrat just released a remix of Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now.”
