Asheley Jewell goes home

Asheley Jewell’s condition has improved enough for her to be released from the hospital.

Asheley Jewell’s condition has improved enough for her to be released from the hospital.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that she has been dismissed from Grady Memorial Hospital so that she can continue recovering in more familiar surroundings. “She is at home and progressing daily,” said Asheley’s cousin Ebony Phillips.

Asehley is the daughter of Kandi Burruss’ deceased ex-fiancé, A.J. Jewell, who gained national notoriety as Kandi’s love interest on season 2 of “The Real Housewives or Atlanta.”

As Asheley recovers police are still looking for a suspect in her shooting last month. A reward of $2,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the gunman’s arrest. Asheley’s family have designated April 16 as Justice For Asheley Jewell Day, and they’ll mark it by handing out flyers seeking information near the site of the incident that left her in critical condition last month.

Asheley was shot in the back of the head during what police are calling an incident of road rage. She was traveling in a car with friends at the time of the shooting, but she was the only one that sustained any injuries.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to called Crime Stoppers in Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
