Laz Alonso: T.I. crashed my best friend’s wedding

Laz Alonso knows a thing or two about surprises at weddings. He stars in Jumping the Broom, the upcoming film about the unexpected drama that can occur when two very different families become one, and he attended a wedding where two uninvited celebrities made a big splash at the afterparty.

“One of my best friends growing up got married in Jamaica,” Laz said. “And we all had villas. … It was the wedding night: we did the reception, we had an afterparty at one of the villas, pool party 2-3 in the morning. All of a sudden we start seeing some hands and feet crawling up over the wall. And we’re in Jamaica! We’re thinking, ‘Okay, it’s about to go down! They’re coming to get us!’ … And all of a sudden we squint, we look, and they start looking familiar. … T.I., his wife Tiny and their bodyguard were also staying at the same resort, heard about the party and wanted to come and join us for the party. Now, they could have very easily knocked on the door, and we would’ve let ’em in. But they climbed over the wall and jumped in the pool, and we partied with T.I. and Tiny that night.”

Now that’s a wedding experience to remember.

Check out the surprises in Jumping the Broom when it hits theaters May 6.
