‘Dancing With the Stars’ recap: April 18

    Couple: Romeo & Chelsie Hightower
    Dance: Foxtrot
    Score: 26

Romeo has officially overcome the lackluster legacy his father, Master P, left on “DWTS.”  He’s lasted longer on the show and consistently gotten higher scores than his old man.

But Romeo isn’t satisfied with just reaching that benchmark, he’s aiming for the “DWTS” championship! “We’re in the halfway mark of the competition,” Romeo said. “You see people stepping their game up, so I’ll work all week to make this perfect.”

He’s so driven to get his swagger right that he even asked to go over the routine at least 50 more times during one point in practice. Someone must have eaten their Wheaties this week. “I want to show the judges how serious I am about this competition,” he said. “I want to show them that I deserve to be on the top.”

Now that’s dedication! And his suave Foxtrot to Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” showed that all the extra work really paid off. Every week Romeo comes out and puts his flair on whatever dance he’s been handed.

He really put a 2011 hip-hop spin on the Foxtrot, but still managed to infuse the routine with his undeniable charm. Check it out!
