Halle: custody battle is ‘going well’

Halle Berry opened up about the emotional and very public custody battle she’s currently fighting.

“It’s been a year full of challenges,” said Halle, who expressed relief that the custody battle is “going well.“

“Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know that a child needs both their parents,” Halle told "Extra."

That raises the question of whether either Halle or her ex Gabriel Aubry is seeking sole custody.

Halle didn’t get specific, but she did make the proceedings sound a lot more amicable than what’s been portrayed in the media.

“What I want to say about it is that sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse and we need the court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I’m so happy that we’ve arrived at that place. For her sake, it’s the best way,” Halle said.

“When there’s a child involved, it’s a relief when you can resolve things in a good way. We both love her more than life,” she added.

She also spoke to “Extra” about her volunteer work with the Jenesse Center and her “What a Little Love Can Do” project.
