She’s conquered tennis and fashion, and now it seems Serena Williams has turned her attention toward the music game.
Serena, who only recently returned to the tennis court following a surgery, spent part of the weekend in the studio with producer DJ Clue, who described her skills as “not half-bad,” according to TMZ.com.
The champion’s Twitter account supports the reports. Serena posted a photo of herself at a mic, and her timeline suggests she’s been spending time with Minnesota Vikings star Bryant McKinnie, who owns his own record label.
With the lack of female hip-hop superstars these days, any new blood is welcome. And if Serena works as hard at rhyming as she does at tennis, then music fans may have something to look forward to.
It’s doubtful that Serena will be trading in her racket for a microphone. She has returned to the courts and is busy working on her game, despite her medical setback.
“After my hematoma, I have to wear something like a long bodysuit to keep my stomach warm. My practices are really interesting right now,” she said.
