LaToya Jackson, NeNe Leakes and Star Jones all exited Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” on the latest episode, just a few weeks after many Barack Obama supporters called on a boycott of the reality show.
If contempt for Donald and his verbal attacks on the president weren’t enough to motivate fans to tune out, the absence of the three remaining Black women (Dionne Warwick was fired earlier in the season) will likely do the trick for many.
Donald, who claims to be "in good" with "the Blacks," has only one left on the series: Lil Jon.
LaToya, who had been eliminated two weeks prior, returned to the show last week but was fired again when she led her team to defeat as project manager.
Star, who was on a team with Meat Loaf and Marlee Matlin, was let go for her failure to develop a stellar branding concept for the challenge.
However, NeNe wasn’t fired. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” standout has made it clear that she and fellow contestant Star are not fans of one another. However, when Star told Donald that she wasn’t comfortable working with NeNe, who was then moved to the opposing team, it seemed to be too much for NeNe, and she left the show without a word to her teammates.
“I haven’t won any money for my charity. I’m just walking away from this experience. I’m not walking away from my charity,” NeNe said. "My experience here has been pretty good,” she added.
Of course, NeNe isn’t walking away from reality TV either. The fourth season of “RHOA” is currently taping and there’s word that NeNe and fellow Atlanta diva Kim Zolciak may be starring in individual spin-off shows, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Kim’s show would focus on her life with her growing family, including her love interest, Kroy Biermann.
NeNe’s series would chronicle her experiences trying to carve a niche for herself in Hollywood’s entertainment industry.
