NeNe Leakes stands by her decision to dump her spot in Donald Trump’s boardroom on "The Celebrity Apprentice."
When NeNe walked out in the middle of a challenge, she didn’t feel a bit bad about it. And she’s really doesn’t care that the Donald called her a quitter.
"What else is he going to say?" NeNe reasoned. "I want you to know this—and this not even tooting my own horn—but I am one of the biggest personalities on the show and I walked off."
Let NeNe tell it, she took the ratings with her when she walked out, and the real estate mogul is just trying to save face. "That’s a problem for Mr. Trump, because people want to tune into see what Ms. Big Personality has to say. But she left, honey!" NeNe told E! News. "He says, ‘She’ll regret this for the rest of her life.’ Really? Stop playing with me."
She was right in a way. Sunday’s three-hour episode of "The Celebrity Apprentice" was down 23 percent in the ratings as compared to previous weeks. According to The Hollywood Reporter it was actually the lowest-rated spring telecast for the series, despite the fact that NeNe, Star Jones and LaToya Jackson (she was fired a second time) all exited the competition.
If it wasn’t clear that NeNe was so over her experience on "The Celebrity Apprentice," she repeated herself yesterday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"I don’t regret it. I felt very good about it. I always do what my gut tells me to do," NeNe said during her sit-down with Ellen Degeneres. "I’m a grown woman, and nobody makes decisions for me. I make my own decisions. It was a toxic situation for me."
Even though Donald was salty about NeNe leaving his show before he could say, "You’re fired," she doesn’t really have anything bad to say about him.
In fact she sort of backs his claims of being in good with "the Blacks" in our exclusive video below.
