Stacey Dash said she can identify and sympathize with her character, Val, in "Single Ladies."
The actress took a minute to chat with VH1 about what it’s like to be single again after being married three times.
Stacey said she’s able to connect with Val on a very personal level. "It’s very empowering because she has heart broken, literally, and she is thrust into this world of being single and being self-sufficient and having her own business," Stacey said. "It’s really exciting. I’m enjoying it."
She wasn’t loving it as much last week, though. It was reported that Stacey stormed off the set in a fit of rage, and witness said she was shouting that she wouldn’t return to set until someone beat up her co-star, LisaRaye McCoy.
While it’s still not clear what set Stacey off, she seems much calmer in the video posted below.
The actress even revealed that she’s also learning a lot while shooting "Single Ladies" in Atlanta. "When you make a connection with someone, it’s so important to pay attention and discern what their purpose is in your life," said Stacey, who feels that the role has made her a better person.
See Stacey put her own spin on singledom when "Single Ladies" premiere May 30 at 8 p.m. on VH1.
